Channeling my inner "Pope": Winter Whites on Fall Nights

So yesterday Hubby and I had a surprise mid week date. I decided to jazz up my work outfit a bit and threw on this oversized winter white  blanket coat I got from New York and Company this season!

It's currently retailing for $74.97!!!

I heard a lot of bad reviews about the coat. Saying it was shapeless and etc. But I love it! The big blanket coat is in! Even for plus sized women. Look how great blogger Allie McGevna looks in hers!

She looks so urban and chic in this outfit. Perfect for a casual night on the town with her snug white skinnies, black boots and other black leather tops/accessories.

And here is my take on the winter white coat, featuring the blanket coat from Ny and Company

I paired it with my "coatigan" from Ny and Company, some brown NY and Company trousers and an old shirt I've had from Target. I had a sleek, low bun of my locs in the back and pretty brown,neutral makeup. Not pictured: My Michael Kors tote bag I got from Hubby as a wedding day present.

. Eyeshadow (All @maccosmetics ): wood winked, rummy, saddle and bronze. Eyeliner: Loreal infallible in black. @nyxcosmetics wonder pencil in deep. @benefitcosmetics They're real mascara. cheeks: @maccosmetics refined beyond bronze (discontinued) @imancosmetics blush in Sable and @sheamoisture4u illuminating powder in Mandaly Dusk for contour. Lips: @limecrimemakeup Velvetines in "Salem" w/ @nyxcosmetics lip liner in Hot Cocoa.


I totally felt like Oliva Pope (on a budget). My girlfriend Candi said all I needed was a "phone the size of a TI-82 calculator and some beige nail polish". Hmmm..beige polish! I may get that this weekend :)
